In Yaoundé, the first safous at a gold price

In recent days, safous, commonly called "plums", began to appear in the markets of the city of Yaoundé. At the start of the season, the fruits are sold at a high price. Apart from the piles of 2,000 or 5,000 CFA francs, there are 10,000 or even 15,000 CFA francs. Most of the "plums" sold arrive from Makenené very early on to the Mfundi market. Others come from the three border area in the south of the country. In addition, for other fruits, the price of avocados is on the rise, pineapples cheaper, and watermelon in abundance.
