Data

Data is essential for urban planning and management. Harvests, multiplied, selected ... The nature of the data is diversifying. Beyond the quantity, the data are also more and more varied: today we speak of spatial (vector) data and alphanumeric data spatially referenced in geographic information systems (GIS), structured data and unstructured data, data from social networks and videos, data transmitted by sensors, without forgetting the flow data whether in real time or in deferred time. Faced with this proliferation, the question of the quality, reliability and value of the data is raised: are they suitable for use and for what uses. The presence of duplicates, outdated or erroneous data introduces biases. Also, to prevent this risk and extract reliable and useful data, specific tools must be put in place: we then pass from massive data to intelligent data.
