From 27 to 30 November 2019, an international symposium on the modernization of cities will be organized in Yaoundé.
Urban mobility as an indicator of modernity, the respect of the land use plan and the issuance of the building permit in Cameroon will be the points that will fill these days whose impact is the modernization of cities. Indeed, "the city of Cameroon does not look good at the time when major deadlines and capitals (like 2035, date when the government projects the emergence of the country), calls the awareness of the entire nation" . It is on the basis of this observation that will be held the first International Symposium on the Architectural Heritage and Modernization of Cameroonian Cities (Sypamov) organized by the National Order of Architects of Cameroon (Onac), it is part of a global socio-economic context that vibrates with the sounds of the colors of the emergence of nations. It will be a question of "a fair of ideas par excellence, an opportunity to federate intelligences around solutions to lead to the sustainable influence of the city of Cameroon." In this context fits the current situation of our cities that do not meet the standards of modernization. Given that since 2005, the focus has been on the advent of smart cities, there is a real reason to value all innovative ideas for the transformation of Cameroon's urban landscape. It is therefore question for ONAC to see how to fix and determine the contours of the modernization of the Cameroonian cities. In this movement, Yaounde will be in the coming days the appointment to give and receive under the theme "Architectural heritage and modernization of Cameroonian cities: vector of economic development." This crossroads will see the contribution of intellectuals from Cameroon, France, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Tunisia and Italy. Given the fact that Cameroon is a pool of skills in the areas of Design, management and materialization of urban and architectural designs, the project is achievable.
