Feicom Award for the best initiatives of the decentralized territorial communities

For the special award of the Special Fund for Municipal Equipment and Intervention (Feicom), the criteria relate to innovation, citizen participation, sustainability, transferability and their impact on local populations. Thus, yesterday, August 22, 2019 in Yaoundé, 144 initiatives out of the 117 district municipalities and urban communities were selected for their examination this year. Also, the members of the international jury, responsible for selecting and awarding the best projects, explained these criteria. This was done during a press conference integrating activities related to this third edition of the "Feicom National Award for Local Community Best Practices". In fact, the national Feicom prize aims not only to encourage the decentralization process but also to promote initiatives carried out on the ground by municipal magistrates. All things considered, it encourages sustainable and endogenous development. This is what makes the Director General of the institution, Philipe Camille Akoa, that "it incites municipal magistrates to always want to do better by producing projects that can be reproduced in other places". It is also the best rewarded prize since, in addition to supporting the elected projects, it can improve them, propose them and help to achieve others, through a new financing of 400 million f. For the record, the price was initiated in 2011
