Towards a restructuring and renovation of the Mvog-Ada district
It is a question of redefining the contours of the restructuring of this district. The development plan covers the area of the "Central Post Office" (Société Nationale d'Investissement) to the Essos district. Thus, a consultation meeting was held between the Yaounde Urban Community (Cuy) and the representatives of the communities of the eponymous district on Thursday, August 22, 2019. Already feasibility studies have taken place and it was for the occasion to present the report. From the report, a development plan had been made reporting two areas of work: restructuring and renovation. The first is to build access roads while the second is to destroy some buildings. Urbain Kenne explains: "The technicians will destroy and rebuild urban premises. These will be used to build buildings for public use including offices, social housing, shops for commercial use. The indigenous populations (Mvog-Ada) will be recased there. It should be noted, however, that this concertation was held in a climate of tension where the patriarchs showed their wrath, thus militating for the conservation of their cultural heritage. But the meeting did not fail because people were asked to come together in a group of urban land initiatives (Gifu) for the establishment of a public-private partnership. In addition, another project of study must be set up where the will of the populations will be integrated. Already in 2008 a letter had been deposited in the services of the Cuy in order to "seek the urbanization of the district Mvag-Ada taking into account land donated to the state."
