Textbook lists are available
The past school year has had some inconvenience with regard to the availability of textbooks, the introduction of unauthorized textbooks by some school heads, and fraudulent price increases by some publishers. A few weeks before school starts, textbook lists are already available to avoid situations that are not to the benefit of students. They were presented during a press briefing given yesterday in Yaoundé by the National Council for Accreditation of Textbooks and Teaching Materials (CNAMSMD). The main objective was to ensure the availability of these manuals at the next school year 2019-2020. To this end, the measures were taken: "From July 1 to August 1, 2019, the Council visits the warehouses of publishers, distributors and booksellers in various cities to ensure that inventory for the next school year .. "said Jean Paul Komon, president of CNAMSMD. It should also be noted that the school year that will begin, no manual or price will change for the nursery and primary cycles. Similarly for the two sections of secondary (French and English) except the second class of general education, a change that is due to the entry into force of the new programs of the latter, in accordance with the decree n ° 227/18/2018 of 23 August 2018, which prescribes the entry into force of a new pedagogical approach: approach by competence (APC) and the introduction of new teaching subjects including Philosophy and Cinema ...
