Public wealth: 340 officials pinpointed, 1,000 management errors sanctioned, CFAF 145 billion in debts since 2008
This is the result of the work carried out by the Budgetary and Financial Disciplinary Council (CDBF), attached to the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Superior State Control (MINDEL/CONSUPE), on 14 April 2025 between 2008 and 2024. In addition, the body declared itself incompetent for 78 alleged grievances.
- For all the sanctions imposed, the total amount of the special fines imposed on the defendants is FCFA 246 million, and the amount of the debet, representing the actual damage suffered by the public authorities, retained by certain offenders, is FCFA 145.1 billion", the CDBF states.
- According to the CDBF, it is up to the Treasury, i.e. the Ministry of Finance, to recover CFAF 145.4 billion, representing the sums owed to the State and to legal entities under public law benefiting from the Treasury's privilege.
- According to Alfred WAMBANG NYAMALUM, Permanent Secretary of the CDBF, in 2025, more than 350 cases are pending before the Board. Other cases are in progress.
