Mining in Cameroon

These figures come from data contained in the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) report presented on Friday September 15, 2023 in Yaoundé by the Acting Minister of Mines, Industry and Technological Development (MINMIDT), FUH Calistus GENTRY. The report, which outlines the state of governance in the oil, gas and mining sectors, shows that the sector is beginning to reap the rewards of rigor and compliance with the EITI. For the first time, this edition provides the reader with a detailed assessment of the procedures for granting/transferring small-scale oil and gas and mining projects. The 2021 report, which is the 15th produced by the country since joining the EITI, will be the subject of the country's international assessment, known as "Validation", due to start on October 1.
