ICT and digital economy development policy: Internet use has risen from 4% of the population in 2010 to 36.5% in 2022
Figures from the World Bank (WB) show that Cameroon is developing its digital technology ecosystem well. In sub-Saharan Africa (SSA), moreover, the rate of Internet use has risen from 5% of the population in 2005 to 31% in 2021. The WB also points out that the boom in start-ups, the driving force behind the continent's economies, should encourage SSA countries to introduce legislation to protect users and investors alike.
