Taxes: Digitization contributes to the increase of Cameroon's revenues by 140% between 2010 and 2022 (DGI)

According to the Director General of Taxes (DGI), Mr. Modeste MOPA FATOING, who revealed these figures yesterday, September 13 in Douala, during consultations with economic operators as part of the preparation of the 2023 budget of the State of Cameroon. This corresponds to an increase of 1,392 billion CFA francs in absolute value. This performance is due to the reforms implemented within the tax administration for over 10 years. These reforms aim to optimize tax collection through the dematerialization of procedures, from declaration to payment. As a result of this option to digitize, the time spent by the taxpayer in fulfilling his tax obligations has dropped from more than 600 hours per year before the reform to less than 20 hours after, says the DGI. This is a reduction of 96%.
