Road safety: The Ministry of Transport launches a new six-month accident prevention campaign
It will concern all road axes and will take place from September 10, 2021 to February 28, 2022. Particular emphasis will be placed on the control of trucks, heavy machinery and buses of interurban passenger travel companies. The Minister reassures that "all appropriate measures" and "all the sanctions provided for by the regulations in force" will be taken against offenders. As a reminder, Cameroon records on average more than 16,000 road accidents each year with more than 1,200 deaths. Between 2011 and 2017, Cameroon recorded 21,049 road accidents for 8,140 deaths.
